The players have been announced and all eyes will be glued to the Nedbank Golf Challenge starting on the 10th November and ending on the 13th November 2016.
So which players should you bet on at the Nedbank Golf Challenge? We have a look at the 4 favourites plus our own wildcard.
Hendrik Stenson – The 2015 runner up is eager to show his prowess yet again. The Swede has never been outside the top four in six visits to South Africa with a win and a play-off defeat to his name. He arrives at the Gary Player Country Club as the in-form Open Champion and is nicely rested after his second place finish at the WGC-HSBC Champions event, where he ranked first for Driving Accuracy and fourth for Greens In Regulation. He is currently the man to beat.
Betting odds of 15/4
Rafael Cabrera Bello – The Spaniard who grew up in the Canary Islands is a fan of the sunshine and this should stand him in good stead at the Gary Player Country Club. His great performance at Hazeltine and his 3&2 singles win against major winner Jimmy Walker, shows that he can dance with the Big Boys and his consistency and reliability from tee to tee seems to be what is needed for the Nedbank Golf Challenge this year.
Betting odds of 25/1
Chris Wood – The Ryder Cup first-timer came third last year after suffering from heat stroke. He seems a firm contender in the ranks given his performance throughout 2016. When he performs well, he’s driven nice and straight (ranked 7th for DA when he won the BMW in May), so he is capable of putting on the right performance at Gary Player Country Club. Some experts even suggest him before Cabrera Bello to take the cup.
Betting odds of 35/1
Charl Schwatzel – The runner up in 2012 is a South African favourite and is aiming to be the first South African since 2007 to win the Nedbank Challenge. Shwartzel trounced American Bill Haas to take the Valspar Championship in March this year and became the only South African to take part in the FedExCup at the season-ending Tour Championship.

Retief Goosen – After being granted a special invitation to play at this years Nedbank Golf Challenge, Retief Goosen is our wildcard pick. The Goose is a two-time US Open major winner and won the Nedbank Challenge in 2004. Returning from a seven-week break due to injury, Goosen did well to break 70 in all four rounds of the Travelers but his form has since taken a dip, with four missed cuts from four starts. Experts however will say that Goosen isn’t missing the weekends by far and is scoring quite well, despite having struggled badly on the greens. He seems to do well on home turf and isn’t struggling with any health issues, so should be in fine form.
